Video iPods: Are They Really Worth It?

Video iPods are great for some people, but others pay those extra bucks for extra features on their iPods that they will rarely, if ever, use.

When iPod shopping and looking to improve to an video iPod, or even an iPod with just photo capabilities, you must make sure these are features you are really after.

The first question you should ask yourself, is simply if you will use these extra features. How often will you actually sit down and watch a movie or TV show on your iPod? Probably plane rides, long car rides, but not much else.

Of course, this is not true for all people, who would camp in front of their iPod and watch movies, even when they have a real TV available.

The picture capability seems a bit useless for most people. You must think to yourself, “if I put pictures on my iPod, how often would I really look at them?”

Once you have considered how much you would use these features, you must consider that for every extra feature on the iPod you pay for more.

The video iPod cost 60 dollars more than normal ones for the cheaper ones, and can be 200 dollars more than other simplier iPods if you plan to buy one with large amounts of memory.

So before you buy your video or photo iPods, consider how much you would really use it, and if it is worth the extra money.
