The Christmas holidays is just around the corner… people who haven't completed their Christmas shopping yet are frantically scouring malls to find that perfect present for their loved ones. But what are we working moms who have to juggle our time between home and office to do? Between finding the best leather clutch bag for the boss, the sexiest LBD for the BFF and the hottest toys for the children, we sometimes run out of ideas on what to give the most special man in our lives, dear old husband.
Here are some tips that other women in my shoes might find useful…
- He is the laid back type who likes to chill out at home on week ends, get him copies of current best sellers (no paperbacks please!) and chart topping CDs. He'll surely enjoy the holiday season cooped up in your cozy bedroom.
- So you want to be sweet and romantic… a bottle of his favorite perfume or the sexiest scent you can find paired coupled with hot silk boxers will heat up the cold December nights
- If he is the sporty type, a pair of the latest model from Nike, Adidas, Skechers or New Balance will surely be appreciated. But if you can afford the sports footwear of Lacoste or Ralph Lauren, he just might love those more. But be sure to get the right size!
- He just won't take his eyes off that football or baseball game on TV… Purchase the flattest screen TV available! The better for your man to enjoy the games… and maybe next time, you can share the popcorn with him and try to be as enthused with that superb play execution
- Is your mate perpetually in a hurry to keep appointments? Always running late for work? Constantly looking at a shiny, new Technomarine or Taghuer might help him keep track of time. A little short on cash? A Swatch, Cassio or Timex will do.
- He's been ogling that preppy Hugo Boss suit every single time you go to the mall, buy it! So, it's a bit expensive, but hey, Christmas only comes once a year
- For your techie mate, the newest laptop, i-pod, MP5, digital cam or cell phone model will surely get ohs and ahs. Check out the net on what is the hippest Nokia, Samsung, Apple, IBM, Sony, Pentax, or Olympus out in the market lately.
- How about going on a short vacation with your honey? Surprise him with roundtrip tickets for two and bridal suite hotel reservations in your dream destination and go make baby number 2… or 3 or 4
- What, none of the above works for you? Maybe this good old fashioned way of making your partner happy will… On Christmas Eve, prepare a gourmet meal of his favorite dishes (all by yourself so it will be more appreciated!) Later, put on that skimpy LBD, light the candles, take out the chilled champagne and put on some romantic music and you're all set for a night of loving
I know I said ten, but I honestly cannot think of any more excellent gift ideas for our beloved hunks. Nine's a good enough number though… hope this will somehow help other stressed out wifeys out there. Good luck shopping ladies!
