In India woman are discouraged since the time of Ashoka the great ruler. In those days woman were not allowed to work, they could not participate in any general matters and were only told to do the house work.
Many kings of the past had 200-300 wife’s they used to pick up any beautiful lady on the street and then use her and then just throw her that is why the laidies used to keep their faces hid. Now India is a very advanced country so such thing no more happen but still a male is preferred than a female in the uneducated families of India and 65% of India has poor families. Like in a poor family with limited money having 3 children 2 boys and 1 girl defiantly the family will educate the 2 boys than the girls. A pregnant woman can not get the gender tested of the baby as many people kill the child if it is a girl. But now in this human race girls are much more smarter than boys of today.
