Disposable America

Is this what our country has come to?

Today we live in a throw- away society. What is a throw-away society most people wonder. How does the attitude of a throw-away society affect our use of everyday goods and products? How may this so called, throw-away society influence our social emotional lives?

First of all, our society today has become prone to the befitting name of The Throw-Away Society. We as Americans buy products or goods everyday and when they become broken, instead of fixing them we throw them out and buy something new. Also works for products that come out with something new or improved, we throw the old product that is no longer any use for us away. Same for goods, or food. We buy goods and put them somewhere and forget about it, or buy too much and then they go to waste and we have to once again, throw them away.

Secondly, how would this attitude of a throw-away society affect our use of everyday goods and products? We would keep on buying products and throwing old or broken products away. The way society works today, at a fast pace, more often than usual new and more improved products would get out on the market and we as Americans would keep throwing away the old or broken products. With foods and goods instead of buying just what is needed at the time, Americans buy in bigger amounts to save money or to save from having to buy more sooner. Then after that it all goes to waste and more goods have to be thrown away

Finally, how may this throw-away society influence our social or emotional lives? It may influence our social lives by keeping us locked inside our own sheltered world, where we think our way of living is right. It could also get us out in the community and try to help others. We could be a part of the inventive world and come up with some of the new or improved products. It could influence us to make more and different kinds of foods or goods for Americans to buy on a daily basis. This throw-away society we live in also influences emotions. We could become angry at others for having more and different products that we do not have or that we simply cannot have. We could feel that we are not good enough, that we havent worked hard enough to get everything that others have.

On the other hand if we do have more goods or products we could become arrogant and shove in others faces that we have more than them. If we have more we could also feel guilt that we have more and want to give aide to those that do not have as much. Then there are some that are greedy that will not care and just keep throwing products and goods away on a daily basis. What would happen if Americans keep on throwing away goods and products? There could be a shortage of new products that could be made. Who will be the first to stop this madness? We have recycling, but not many Americans seem to be too interested in that practice.

Most make up excuses that it is too hard to separate materials from others, so they will just throw away instead. This throw- away society is getting bigger and bigger as time goes by. Surely there will be a shortage in being able to produce more goods or products in the future. Maybe money will be a problem and most will not be able to keep on buying these goods and products.

We live in a throw-away society that keeps getting bigger. It affects our daily life and our daily use of goods and products. This throw-away society also affects Americans socially and emotionally. It could become a problem if it is not fixed. But would it ever be able to get fixed, at the fast pace of our society today? More and more products and goods keep getting produced, so its highly possible that it will just get worse as time goes by.
