Math and Society

How simple math can show a flaw in our driving laws.

Everyone can agree that everything in life can be related to mathematics. Everything from clothing to music, to our everyday decisions can be put into some sort of mathematical equation (Watch Donald Duck In Mathamagic Land). Mathematics being the universal language can bridge communication between almost everything, because no matter who you are or where you are from, 1 + 1 = 2. Knowing this... let's play.

Using the basic to explain a concept of a flawed society.

1+3+5 = 9 and 18/2 = 9
x6/y = 9
x6/y = 18/2
18/2 = 1 + 3 + 5

Simple, right? However, for some reason, our society doesn't follow this rule... example:

A + B + C = Crashing Your Car Into A Tree.
Drinking + Driving + Speeding = Crashing Your Car Into A Tree.
Eating + Driving + Sneezing = Crashing Your Car Into A Tree.

So if,

Drinking + Driving + Speeding = Eating + Driving + Sneezing
then why are there different penalties applied by the law if you are doing one over the other?

They both equal the same thing and yet are not equal at all.

Unlike numbers or constants... Drinking, Driving, Speeding are variables. Alone without the formula can equal anything. Drinking + Driving + Speeding = Getting home; just as a + b + c = 9 in one occasion and can equal 40 in another. So if Drinking and Driving don't equal anything without a result, how can drinking and driving be illegal? The result is what should be punished or dealt with, and not the undecided variables. To add to that, if crashing into to a tree is penalized with a broken car plus what ever slap on the wrist the cops decided to issue at that moment, then it should be treated the same regardless of how it happened.
