Pessimistic People

Wondering how we can all live in a cruel-free world.

Why is it unrealistic to hope for a world whose inhabitants love each other, respect each other, help each other, and are nice to each other? True that the world can be a cruel place, but it doesn't have to be, and I feel that maybe we just don't want to live in a peaceful world... Maybe that would be too boring or plain. But it doesn't have to be... The news could be positive everyday about people who were helping each other, about fun celebrations, about people who perform acts of extreme kindness and goodness... Wouldn't that be better than news about murderers and child molesters?

Why is it wrong to wish people could be simpler, to wish that everyone could have their guards lowered? While it is important to our ego not to bruise it, there must be a way we can learn to not feel stupid for letting someone know how we feel about them if it's positive. And if we harbor any negative feelings towards someone, hopefully we can try and understand the other person better. Why did they act the way they did and why did we react the way we did? Could understanding what the other person is going through and dealing with in their life help alleviate pain we feel? And to stop the cycle of damaged people, we must raise our children with love, teaching them by example.
