Since he died, things have never been the same. Before his death, America was so admired around the world. He inspired all of us, to do great things -- to reach for the moon, to live with people in other countries and work with them to make their part of the world better for them. He made us proud to be Americans and we loved him -- the whole world loved him.
But that day in November, in Dallas, it all stopped -- the music, the energy were gone. One shot in the head and things have never been the same.
After that, Martin was killed -- only because he wanted equality for all and everyone to be judged by the content of their character.
Then it was Bobby -- who just wanted to end the war and end poverty in this country. Another gun -- another bullet.
Things became worse as we had no one to believe in. We kept looking but there was no one.
Then came Watergate, the plumber's unit, the lies, the secret taping, the cancer was growing --- this time he resigned and we were glad to see him go.
After that the Shining City on a Hill -- for awhile until it turned into Iran Contra -- guns for money. And secretly we started interfering in other people's wars, Catholic against Protestant, Jews against Muslim and we supported the contras with guns. Every time there was a chance for peace in the Middle East, another bullet killed another leader.
We sat up dictators, secretly gave money and guns to the ones we wanted to win, but we kept changing our mind who that should be. Protect the oil. We supported Saddam in Iraq and gave him everything he needed to kill with -- chemical weapons, WMD's. The same with the Taliban in Afghanistan. Secret wars our citizens did not know about.
Then came another great man. But great men have great flaws. Instead of the right and left working together for the good of all, they spend 7 years trying to find anything wrong that this man could have done. Instead they found his one flaw and impeached him but did not convict him because it was a personal flaw. His brilliant wife was publicly humiliated, but she stayed by his side. She showed us what family values really meant and the right hated both of them for it.
Next came -- oh, it is so hard to explain. First the man who got the most votes did not become the President. No, instead we got an inexperienced ex-businessman who never made a business successful.
Then they came -- the terrorists -- the “blow back” for interfering where we should not have. They flew 2 planes into 2 buildings and the buildings and 3,000 people became just dust. We declared a war that no one wanted because it was against the wrong people. Save the oil.
Years later we are still at war, over 4,000 soldiers are gone -- many more injured. We are not the brightness in the world any more. Our dollar is worth 300% less, gas is $4 a gallon, millions have lost their homes, millions more unemployed, and millions have no health insurance because we are not the richest in the world anymore.
Next came secret signing statements -- our rights are gone. A war in another country where the terrorists are. Save the oil. Deaths everywhere, Sunni and Shiites, Judaism against Islam, Muslim killing everyone. Our Congress fighting, not working together, no, it's the right-hating the left. Drug families fighting drug families -- open borders and it spills over into our streets. Climate is killing the planet -- 4.900 babies a day die from lack of water -- food crises -- a nightmare in our world. We all are crying - no one is listening.
We pray because we believe someone is walking the earth right now -- someone who can bring peace. We tell our God and our Saints to please let it be true - we are so hunger for someone of greatness and we are looking for him. To heal us -- to make America shine again -- to house the homeless, feed the hungry and take care of those who suffer.
Please let him be the one!
