Society, Morality, and Censorship

Are you making a difference?

When is censorship necessary and when is it an infringement on our freedoms? There is a fine line between the two. While we don't want our country to be like Hitler's Germany, we also don't want it over run with corruption.

So where is this ever fine line? It seems it is getting blurrier every time we turn around. In the news, on the net, on t.v. every form of media is affected in one way or another.

It is not so much that the rules have changed as much as it is that we as a society have changed. 50 years ago nudity on the television was taboo. Now, as people are becoming desensitized, because they see these type things regularly they begin to ignore them. While I disagree to an extreme degree with censorship as a government sanctioned control mechanism I do believe that we as a people should stand up for what we know to be right.

A country's government shouldn't be the ones that have to tell people what is acceptable and what is immoral From childhood's hour we are taught right from wrong. Our minds absorb this knowledge, we need to put it to use. Listen to your conscience, Listen to your heart, They will guide you, and finally don't just follow the crowds "Narrow is the road and few there be that find it". be one of those few, make a difference.

Whether you believe in censorship or not, We all know right from wrong, ignoring it only causes strife. It is written on the tablet of our hearts, read it and heed it.

It is funny Jupiter because I hold agree with your focus on a number of your blogs, however, when I express a slightly difference in opinion from you; you want to censor my comments because they differ from your own.

I can understand that because it takes a strong man to be able to listen to the voice of reason when that voice says what you loath. Not every man is big enough to stand firm with what they write knowing beyond any doubt that no one else can waiver their position in the slightest.

What I find amusing and not so amusing is the fact that I took my two responses and made a blog out of them and posted so they would stand next to yours and people may click from one to the other, but Society will not allow it to be published. That is counter to what you write here and I find that ironic, hypocritical and slightly amusing. I find these emotions in it because of the exact words you typed on this blog.

With as much as I surmise you've experienced in your life and with the topics you tackle in this blog site and others, I would have expected more of you than that...now that is an honest judgment!

Dobson, I was not trying to censor your point of view, I simply pointed out in my other article on which you commented that the verses I quoted are New Testament scripture and not Old Testament, I took your comment off because it seemed you were so eager to critique my work and express your point that you failed to realize this. I do not mean to offend you, I thought that since I pointed out your error that you might be better inclined to reread the verses which I quoted and then possibly return and leave a more informed comment than the one you originally left as the one you originally left stated that I was "quoting Old Testament" and had I left it there in the comments would have made you seem foolish since anyone with even mild Biblical knowledge knows that Matthew is the 1st book of the New Testament, and that Romans and the other verses are New Testament as well. I apologize if you found my removing your comment to be a form of censorship, that was not my intent
