The Reproductive Health Bill:
After numerous attempts of the government to pass the Reproductive Health Bill, there is still no assurance that it will be implemented to guide our booming population and it's associated problems. The number one enemy of the approval is obviously the Christian church. The church is totally against the promotion and use of contraceptives because it is against the teachings of christianity to prevent life.
Although the church agrees on some of the provisions of the bill that enforces the protection of women and children, they still will not accept the bill because of the provisions on the use of contraceptives.
Another provision that the church disagrees with is the implementation of Sex Education in schools in the nation.
A statement by a clergyman says:
"..It's only right that we must protect a human being from conception.."
The word contraceptive is always associated with abortion and is often misleading. Contraceptives prevent life from forming in the first place , and abortion is actually preventing life by killing a human inside a mother.
Using contraceptives is very practical rather than resorting to abortion, which is inhuman and unlawful in both religion and the government.
Unplanned pregnancies is the main cause of the population boom and a big contributor to the worsening poverty condition. An unplanned child affects the family by lowering their purchasing power, thus it reduces the spending for other necessary things like health and shelter.
Sex has never been taboo until the church began to label it as immoral. It is only necessary that sex education must be a major prequisite before the child steps into independence. Another good reason to implement sex education is to prevent the youth from getting the knowledge about sex in the wrong sources such as porn movies and the internet porn sites. In fact, parents should be the first teachers of the child to educate them about sexuality. Parents should not think that sex is dirty, it's only the way of life. It has never been taboo. In reality, most parents today are scared of thinking that telling their children about sex might even provoke them to engage in it that they would just irresponsibly rely on the child's environment about it.
And finally, we have to admit that a good secret of a long lasting marriage is a good sexual relationship.
We definitely could not deny that at all..^^
