What amazes me about city folks is they all want to live in a small town, so they move to one,but there not happy because they have to drive to the city to go to the mall or star bucks or what ever else they may need.
Soon the nice green town begins to change.
The forest slowly becomes shopping centers and malls.
The town square that once had little mom and pop shops that was the center of the whole town begins to die. The new center of town is on a highway exit were a Wal-Mart has been built, and the mom and pops of the old stores now were blue vests with happy face pins miserably meeting consumers at the door of the very business that choked out there life blood.
The little ratty dollar theater with the floors are sticky but the employees were nice when you walked through the door has shut down and become a thrift store. It too was murdered by its high priced competitor, the giant multi screamed ultra mega cinema with stadium seating. Were the pimply face teen at the ticket window wont even look you in the eye much less say hello.
Lets not forget that what used to be a nice peaceful drive to and from work has now become a traffic filled night mare were the population of the town has grown but the roads haven't. Cars of all types wedged in too the little two lane road. Mostly held back because of that jerk in spandex on his bicycle who is to good to go to the park. To ride his overly priced bicycle.
Eventually the city folks that moved to this once quaint town look around and realize its no longer what they wanted. Its too big and too much like the city they were getting away from to begin with.
They treated the town much like a pimp treats runaway teen just out of school . They do dolled her up, Put her on the street corner and sold her for every thing she is worth. Then once she is only a warn out old husk of the girl she used to be, they move on like locust that have just eaten every thing green in one patch of land. They move to the next small town and start all over again. Wondering were all the small towns are going.
Hey I love capitalism. But I also think highly of responsibility.
