Thoughts on WWII and after.

A fake interview to an American after WWII. Imaginary testimonial by people that were in Pearl Harbor and 9/11.

If another war developes in Europe should America take part again?

Not at first, when they did not know about the Holocaust and all the cruelty going on, or until someone invites them in, even if it is by attacking them.

Do you think the appeasement of Hitler was right?

No! Hitler wanted the whole world. People should not trust a man that is somewhat of a dictator and obviously angry. Especially after the treaty of Versailles that irritated the Germans.

What is Blitzkrieg? What would you do to stop it?

Blitzkrieg means “lightening war” and it is when every form of attack is used. Once it starts, it is very hard to stop it because if they do then the other side would be stronger. The only thing I can think of to stop it is to reduce the amount of airplanes and tanks to send the more experienced men. In other words, start sending quality instead of quantity and determine the minimum that can be sent without losing everyone that goes to war.

As an American in 1940, what are your feelings as Germany conquers France ?

I am so afraid and a little disappointed; why did France give in that fast? As I listen to the sad news on the radio only one thought comes to mind “We could be next.” This is probably when I would change my opinion about joining the war.

As a German, what are your thoughts prior to the Battle of Britain ?

I hate that this is happening; they are making our country look so bad. However, I have the confidence that our vigorous air force will not fall to what England can put against us. We have already won many times, I don't see why this would not be one of them. Now I am a little excited to get this over with.

As a German military commander, what do you do to try and defeat England ?

Perhaps our air force is not our fort, I suggest we start sending less planes and more ships with tanks. I am tired of our men dying and England gaining pride, we need to do something that will hurt them.

Why do you think the British were successful in the Battle of Britain ?

Spirit, they never gave up or told anyone to take pity on them. The whole community came together and they got organized to protect their beautiful cities. They even made shelters and stayed underground as the bombs thundered above.

Thoughts on Pearl Harbor

Yesterday was chaos and confusion at the harbor. I heard many people died and I am still a little confused about the attack that the Japanese pulled on us. They said the feud with Japan was over and they were signing for peace between the two countries. I just wonder when this is going to stop, the war in Europe is been going on and now this. The US is most likely to join the big war going on in Europe so I am expecting more violence after this point. It is just hard to believe that they also bombed the hospital; I thought they wanted to hurt equipment, not people. All that is left for me to do now is sitting, listening to the news and wonder when this is all going to end and peace will surround us again.

Thoughts on 9/11

War again? When are these people going to learn? Since I was born, I cannot recall a single moment when a pointless war was not going on. I cannot really understand what happened, but it is sure not good at all. The main concern seems to be the world trade center; it does hold a big part of the country's economy and communication. However, before going to school, I saw the airports and pentagon being attacked. I still do not know how this could be possible and I do not even want to think of the many people that got killed. This has been the biggest tragedy caused by men since Pearl Harbor , and it might just get us into a war just like the prior one did. I heard president Bush does not want to go to war, but politicians often lie, so I would not be surprised if tomorrow the US bombs whoever did this. It may be too soon to determine, but my classmates say that the president's old friend Osama Bin Laden had something to do with it, so this time it is to the Middle East .
