Too fat too thin

Will tabloids ever get a clue.

When your waiting at the checkout your can’t help but eye the cover of women and men magazines with their contradicting titles plasted over the pictures of famous people. When someone bought me a couple of these magazines to read I couldn’t but shake my head at what the magazines were saying and decided to share the thoughts that came to my mind.

On the covers you have thin actresses with bold writing ‘friends close to the star fear she is anorexic’ and underneath is a photo of another star ( I won’t mention there name as it only belittles her more ) with the writing that she is obese and the most absurd one and will mention her name on this one is Brittney Spears is getting fat. These magazines are a couple of months old now but at the time Brittney Spears was pregnant. To say she is fat is so wrong, she was pregnant. Did they think she would keep her size 8 figure while she was having a baby.

On another scale if a thin actress gets pregnant and is not putting on enough weight in the eyes of the beholder whoever that is in the magazines eyes she’s anorexic and starving her baby. I don’t know if Nicole Kidman is pregnant but that’s all they write about and continue to show this tiny bump of her stomach and we are meant to believe that she is. Hello ! that’s where her organs go. I would imagine she is like us non actors and has always had a tiny bump if you even want to call that on her stomach. If she’s not pregnant why don’t you just make her feel more insecure and she will lose weight then in a few months the headlines will say friends close to the star fear she has an eating disorder.

Yes they are stars. Yes they will get written about. But the big picture is being missed not only is the articles hypocritical of each other but how are we as people suppose to feel good about ourselves. What is considered the normal weight where you wont be labelled. People read and look at the magazines and go well if she is fat and I’m bigger than I must be obese. There is this misconception that if you are over voluptious that you must eat junk food all day or eat all the time. That’s not the case a lot of people have illnesses which prevent them from exercising or have a medical condition and all sorts of reason why they put on weight. If you eat healthy and you are overweight we should learn to love ourselves no matter what which is hard I know with people judging or if you even eat a salad sandwich in public people will point and giggle and if your famous take photos. I don’t think they realize how ridiculous there headlines are and how dangerous the statements they make are.

Your probably thinking is this more of a rant and rave then a point , well , the answer is cant a girl do both.

This was very well written. I agree with you. There is definitely a double-standard going on in Hollywood. One minute the tabloid reporters are talking about people being too thin and then within the same magazine, they will talk about someone who needs to lose weight.
