Visions of Beauty

Pretty much just me taking a subject and ranting on and on about it. I'm good at that.

People have their own idea of beautiful. So why does society try to put people in a stereotype like that? And what do they do to the people who don't really fit anywhere? Ya know, we may be moving forward in technology, but we sure as hell aren't moving forward in brains. Oh sure, we have fancy cars that can drive you anywhere you want to go, and we've mastered the air with supersonic jets. Heck, we're even starting to master space. I mean, we have a space station for goodness sakes! You would think that maybe somewhere along the line someone would have the gall to stop and think, hey, maybe this isn't a good idea. Have you ever noticed how you can compare society to nature?

For example, Niagra Falls, one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. But despite all its beauty and power, people don't realise that the waterfall is actually traveling backwards up the river. Because of its awesome power, Niagra Falls continually tears apart the bedrock of the river causing it to travel further and further up the river. Just like society. We have all of our awesome stuff, but we end up screwing ourselves over and traveling backwards. Another example is hurricanes, another awesome force of nature. It is a mix of a few natural forces, wind and water. Yet despite raw power of the wind and the life giving water, there is a calm spot dead center of the storm. And that life giving water might just take your life if you go outside during that brief calm. Society does the same thing.

The trick is getting lucky and figuring out when there's a storm, when it's just a brief calm, and when the storm is finally done. So many of the world's teens are eaten alive by society, whether it be from not fitting in, not being able to keep up, or if you get suckered in just to get caught in the storm of society. Well, I think that's all for now. I'll try to pick up from there next time. Thanks for reading. Please leave comments with your thoughts. This was extremely free form and I had no direction with this writing. I just felt like ranting.
