Who Are You?

People will always try to change you but always be yourself.

Ever feel like everyone's always trying to point out your flaws? You're this you're that. You should be doing this with your life. Always finding a reason to judge you for something. You're being yourself and yet someone always has something to say about you. It's stressful at times. If you're in that position, I can relate to you big time.

Who are you? Just think about that question for a second. Yes you can say your name, but really can you answer who you are? How come at times we find it so hard to answer that simple question when we are put on the spot? Go back in time when we use to be kids and people would ask us whom we are and we would answer a princess, doctor, firefighter, singer, batman or cat woman. We thought of ourselves as important people in the world that made a difference in other peoples lives.

It seems to be everyone is making teenagers and young adults grow up so fast. I know having a job and having money provides you with things you need in your life, but along the way we loose apart of ourselves and a lot of younger people seem so lost because they are unsure of what they want anymore. They also try to be someone or try to be someone people want them to be. In time young adults are confused as to who they are and what makes them happy now a days. I know my parents want me to go a certain way and then some of my friends want me to go another and I've gotten to the point as to who am I trying to impress. It's almost like I lost the inner kid in me because everyone wants me to be so serious all the time. I'm sorry its good to be serious on a certain note but at times people just need to relax and have some fun in their lives too.

The way I see it as, we are never to old to be who we want to be, what's the major rush. I'm turning 23 this month and in my eyes I still think I'm a young person. I'm tired of being busy all the time and trying to make everyone else happy. I would like to have fun and enjoy things before I really get settled down and have kids down the road. I'm not saying I won't have fun when I'm older but we are here to live and learn lessons. Many people I went to high school with are now either married and have kids or soon to be married. I just think some people need to slow down and really think about what makes them happy and always be yourself, laugh and never loose the inner child you have inside of you. Remember money is good for things you need but when you are on your deathbed I'm sure money will be the last thing that's on your mind because that's not what's really important in life.
