To start with, what is the meaning of the world “Youths” According to oxford Advanced learners Dictionary, it means the time of life when a person is young, especially the time before a child becomes an adult. It can also be young people considered as a group. They are the people their blood is still flowing very well; who will do all sorts works without complaining of having problems.
Who is a leader? By definition, a leader is a person who leads a group of people, especially the head of a country, an organization etc. By the topic, one will ask what connect youth and being a leader? But there is a very great connection between the men. Like the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo was once a boy, he grew up to a youth and then an old man.
Like in this world, we have morning, afternoon and night stage.
In morning stage, we find the youths who are still vibrant and ready for any work. In the afternoon, we find people intending to retire. In the night stage, we find people waiting for the appointed day of entering the grave. What are my trying to convey by this illustrations? I am trying to say that those old men in the afternoon stage give birth to children so as replace them when they themselves are gone. If they don't give birth to children, there will be no youth. And they also want someone that will answer their same when they are gone. And when they are gone, the youths begin to lead. But it is guide unfortunate that in our country today, that even old men waiting for the day of their death still wants to lead. Even the old men that leaders want their sons to replace not minding so whether they are capable of doing so or not. There are responsible men who are talented for leadership but get, are not given chance for that. That is the reason that many people live in poverty.
Some youths are irresponsible bc of lack of good training. Some parents when they see their children doing wrong thing, they overlook it. That is why we see armed robbers, murderers, ritualists etc. but if a parent corrects hisher children from their tender age, the children will grow up to be responsible people.
Also, government should be doing youth programmes so as to enlighten the youths on the consequences of following the bad way. By this, the youth will become a very good leader in future. And also parents who see their not capable of perform them to avoid regret in future.
Government should help people who are in poverty but has the qualities and qualifications to achieve their life goal.
And also youth should have a listening ear is that they should listen to their oldest in terms of living moral and upright life. And right within themselves, they know that they are the future leaders. They should not think that they know every thing.
By our topic “Youths as future leaders” it means the young men and women that comes after the old people to lead the country or an organization.
