Learning takes many shapes and forms. Children’s mind is just a blank slate that writes up everything that happens around them. A person is the sum of her or his experiences, without those experiences development and growth cannot crop up. The experiences we encounter help to paint how we see the world, and ourselves.
People learn through modelling others’ behavior. They imitate what others are doing in any social setting and learn. Social learning plays a vital role in personality development. Social learning theories explain how boys imitate other boys and men, while girls imitate other girls and women. By observing other people, child learns appropriate behavior. Albert Bandura, a social learning theorist stated that, “People not only gain understanding through reflection, they evaluate and alter their own thinking” (Bandura 1985). In a social structure men and women operate in different domains of society, they behave in different ways.
