Largely influenced by the disillusionment induced by the second world war, postmodernism tends to refer to a cultural, intellectual or artistic state lacking a clear central hierarchy or organizing principle and embodying extreme complexity, contradiction, ambiguity, diversity and interconnectedness or interreferentiality.
The term almost widely referred by some critics as both narcissism and nihilism in the sense that this theory flatly argues on the core of modernism. The term nihilism is sometimes used to denote a general mood of despair at the pointlessness of existence which is similar to postmodernism ideals.But postmodernists defended their concept that it is more dynamic and progressive, because of the clear parameters that divide between each theories; while modernism talked about progress and evolution in mass media, economy and lifestyle, postmodernism digs on the philosophical meaning of freedom, chaos in the society and often questions the hierarchy of progress.
The theory responds to the curiosity of human nature. As modernism confined its ideals to progress and developments in the renaissance period, postmodernism diverts this concept to a more advance approach. This applies to every person who is eager to adopt revolutionary changes. The inquisitiveness of more progressive minds leads to the popularity of this theory which attracts rave reactions. As the world steering its direction to the new millennium, society tends to be more circumspect with its existence, further associating learning with the application of theories and enhancing its knowledge to be more conscious towards environmental issues that affected them. In this sense, several thinkers attempted, and in the long run succeeded, instigating postmodernism practice.
Throughout the volatile period following the Second World War, many have influences this concept, broadening perspective how to deal and solve problems that arises through globalization. Apparently, it attracts liberals and radicals in accepting alternatives in solving dilemmas in other ways. Thus society's mentality is not fixated anymore.
The profound truth of this postmodern age is that society's sensible mind finds its way to reshape information and transformed knowledge into information to what could be the biggest achievement so far of reinventing and facilitating new ideas and the influence of the latest innovation in technology of this generation. Though, this may not be the rallying point to earn approval from some critics who lampooned the theory as merely nihilist (source: wikipedia), and nonsense, this may somehow help placate the intertwining ideas and criticism of others and give a more concrete level of understanding especially to the public who seems to be confused and bother which is reliable and which is not. One point is that this is a good development in the upgraded educational system in our generation particularly on some progressive individuals whose creativity resulted in the birth of postmodernism concept and that this may have a distinction for some personal improvements of the lives of the people who are eager to change the dogmatic norms in the environment.

Since man is a rational being, he is capable of explaining things by using his reasons and even questioned his very existence. He is capable of searching higher knowledge in order to come up with a comprehensive understanding of what the world is. Broadening his perspective in dealing and solving problems that comforts society by questioning of what has been established already and keep on criticizing the series of changes that took place. Seemingly, society before the development of postmodernism follow what is universally accepted. They stick to what has been practiced which is actually being programmed in their mind in a long period of time. Thus, society's mentality is fixated.
With the development of postmodernism in any field, it offers different ways, techniques/tactics in dealing things to have an order and it even offers alternatives in solving problems. It continues criticizing the present changes that occur in any discipline brought somehow disorder to the system because there will always people who dose not welcome criticism. With that the resistance of some might bring disorder that will lead to conflict.
On the other hand, postmodernism tend to condition the minds of the people to disregard what is universally accepted within the idea that any stable or permanent reality disappears. Apparently, it attracts liberals and radicals in accepting alternatives in solving dilemmas in other ways. Society tends to go out in their shell and enjoy probably the different options/choices being offered brought about by post modernism. Thus society's mentality is not fixated anymore. They are opened to wide-arrayed possibilities which is also situational, provisional, temporary, conditional to universality, truth reason, or stability making no claim at all.
