It seems really strange to me where our priorities lie these days. In America’s schools around the nation, it’s surprising what is considered okay and what is not. The Ten Commandments are out because a student might read them and try to follow them. The Holy Bible is out because someone might be offended by its presence in the classroom. Christian prayer is out for the same reason. We must not let anyone be offended by the presence of one tiny, little boy or girl with a Scripture.
However, students ARE allowed to learn about condoms, what they are, what they’re used for and how to put them on. They are taught all about so-called “safe sex”, at ages that would shock the parents of those students. But that’s not all. They are also taught all about homosexual sex, taught to respect it, to like it, and even to try it, because it’s okay to be gay or lesbian, even though it’s not okay to teach them to wait until they are respectably and respectfully married.
Plus, as if that wasn’t enough, students, the same students who are not allowed any practice of Christianity in the classroom, are TAUGHT all about the religion of Islam. They are given Islamic names, taught to wear Islamic clothing, learn the languages and the customs of the Moslem people. They are taught to pray to Allah--in class, mind you. And are even graded on these subjects just like any other class.
One hundred years ago, it was quite common for students to bring their Bibles to school. In fact, they had to, because part of their assigned studies involved reading from the Bible. They studied the Ten Commandments, learned Bible stories, memorized verses and read aloud from its pages. They were not taught human sexuality, in any form, nor were they taught in the classroom, to abstain from sex until marriage . Their parents were expected to handle this situation at home, and they did, when the child was of a reasonable age.
One hundred years ago, the worst problems teachers had to deal with while school was in session, was someone throwing paper wads or cutting up in class. Today’s teachers, however, fear for their very lives and the lives of their students. Sounds like we have come a long way, doesn’t it? It sure is a big improvement over dipping some girl’s braids in the inkwell, huh?
Fact is, the majority of the people living in the United States are Christians, and they want their children to be taught Biblical values. But all it takes is the one, lone voice of dissent to ruin a child’s education, and probably his or her moral values as well. That’s what the atheistic society wants, children growing up without any belief in God whatsoever. Where is our freedom of religion now?
In order to raise our children in a Christ-centered atmosphere, we have to either home school them or place them into Christian school systems. In some family situations, none of the above is possible or practicable. The only good answer is to bring the public school system back to what it once was. Allow prayer to the God of the Bible, and Bring the Holy Book back into the Curriculum.
This is the absolute only way our children will ever be able to get a decent education without fearing for their lives on a daily basis. Bring God in, and the devil has to flee! it’s as simple as that.
