That this is our Heart's Desire when nothing seems to be falling into place?
We know our life plan is to travel in our RV taking photographs and sharing our stories with others. We know this because every time we talk about this lifestyle our insides get all tingly and we smile uncontrollably. We know this because all of our dreams are about us driving our RV, relaxing by the water, enjoying the traveling and even cleaning the RV. We know this because every time we close our eyes we see us living this lifestyle. We know this because we feel it, we smell it, we live it and we are willing to do whatever it takes to make this dream become our reality.
Those were the first paragraphs of an article originally written in March of 2005 when we first set out into this lifestyle and everything went wrong. The only thing that kept us hanging on was our faith, faith in our dream and the faith that we could not give up on it ever again. It was tough and still today things don't always go according to “The Plan” but we now look at that as a good thing, trying not to plan too much and allowing life to just happen.
This was a dream for us both since we were children, we stayed on-course and took the necessary steps to fulfill it once and for all. Many times the road was rough but an important thing we learned was to let go and put it all in God's hands. We continue doing everything we know how to do at the time and when we know more we do more.
Another thing we learned from this was we are not the traditional types and we do not handle things the way most people do. In the past we had believed that was one of our flaws but we now see it as one of our most positive traits. We do not do things by the book because we are writers of our own books. Our choices hardly ever align with the majority of opinions and we realize that we have an unorthodox way of dealing with our challenges that many people do not understand but the important thing is that we finally do.
There have been moments that we have just about given up on our dream but now is the time for us to begin living our lives as if we believe in ourselves. To be all that we can be and to do what we do best. We are back on course and this time we will not allow anyone or anything to stop us from creating the life we want. We will stay focused and centered in our lives so that we will not swerve off our chosen path. Life is definitely what you make of it and we are making ours the best we have ever experienced before.
We now have our home, it is a 26' Class C that we have been very happy living in. We have worked our way around the country several times, worked at several of the NASCAR racetracks doing different type of jobs. We also managed a campground, worked at other campgrounds, added our creative tile work at several locations and find various types of other temporary work whenever we need additional funds for traveling.
This lifestyle has been the best choice we have ever made in our lives and continue learning many life's lessons and having the time of our lives.
