Does anyone really know what its like to be immortal? To live on forever, to never die,or to have your soul live on? We as humans often think about living forever. We hope that whatever our life brings us, we can cherish each and every moment of our happy times and live that happiness out forever. As for the bad times and the bad moments of each of our lives, we only hope that through immortality we can bypass those bad times. Immortality means living on forever. Whether that be through good or bad times. Although we hope that through immortality we can live out the best of times, and never have to suffer through life as an immortal. But as we all well know life means living through the good and bad. And if we could choose between happiness and sadness, we all would.
Immortality is living as though you could live forever. Disease is an obstacle of immortality, if we can overcome that, then we can avoid that and live on forever. But we have to take a look at all the positives and the negatives of becoming an immortal. Most of us would only hope that becoming immortal would mean living our lives through all the positive things. The positives would mean living freely, and enduring all greatness. Most of us know that life is much more than just a bowl of cherries. We as humans have learned to accept life as it is. We take life for granted in many ways each and everyday.
We all know that through life we learn to deal with what is handed to us. We learn to take things as they are. But it still does not get rid of the suffering each of us endure through our lives.
Immortality can mean many things to a lot of people. Some believe that if you have faith in the beyond, then you shall always live on forever. So would that be immortality? Some would say yes, the ones that believe and the ones who have that faith. So being immortal to me, would be like living on forever, still enduring all happiness and all suffering. But to many of us, living on forever through all those times, isn't something that we would wish to remember or live on through.
So what would it be like to be immortal? To me being immortal means living on, dealing with the knowledge that you can never die, knowing that you can live through all things and see all things, and knowing that there are things that you have never done or accomplished, and knowing that no matter what happens, whatever you wish to do or see, you have that time to do it.
Our lives are what we make them. They are exactly the way we believe they are. We choose our own paths, and becoming immortal would mean that we would have an opportunity to make all the wrong things right. We would have the opportunities to become whatever we wish, we'd have the opportunity to change the bad things. And we'd have the opportunity to do and see all things, forever.
