God knows, as our heavenly Father, Jesus knows as our elder brother, and the Holy Spirit knows as our comforter and guide, just how deceitful and wrong our own understandings can be. As He knows this, He has prepared a way for us to walk, that supports relationship, while cleaning up our mental-emotional act i.e. our understanding.
This process, and it is a process taking time and space, brings us to a merciful truth . . . . I must Acknowledge God in all my ways! All My Ways! ALL MY WAYS!!!
This does not stipulate further, as to whether the way is good, or bad or indifferent. It does not matter; we are to acknowledge God in all our ways. We are to know that God is with us, and He is still God in all the ways we do. This is an awesome ability we receive in our "new life" to turn to God and call upon Him in any place or way we find ourselves.
This is not a carte blanche for sin; nor a pat-you-on-the-head-cause-you're-so-cute, even-if-you-are- bad syndrome (sin). On the contrary, this way is a way out of our own selfish snares, pits, traps, etc. that God knows are programmed into our unregenerate mind, emotions and will - and makes us as Paul states in Romans 7 "wretched".
And God being the loving Father that He is, has provided a way for us, in which in the midst of our "yuk" we can turn to Him, recognizing the sin-problem we are in, and cry out to Him for help. We will be led to the source of our "yuk", shown it's dastardly purpose, and God's Love, forgiving and turning to our good what the enemy plans for evil, repent and be healed/delivered/set-made free.
God's help is not a simple deliverance. Or I should say His help begins with a simple deliverance, and builds into washing of our minds with the water of the Word. Then we are led into all truth about our situations, problems, sins; and then facing our own weaknesses and shortcomings, and humbly asking Him for His mercy and grace, and way out, way through!
So we come to the directing of our ways, which we see from above, comes about only as we acknowledge Him in all, All, ALL of our ways! He then directs us personally and intimately in ways that have been prepared for us to successfully walk in, through, and out of.
God is awesome, and all powerful !!!
Breathing: In/Out ?
Let's begin this part of our journey in Prayer-Being, Prayer-Life.
So you are born again, you have come to the point/time in your life where you realize that you need God, actually want God and chosen to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior -- inviting him into you life to be Lord. This is a reality to you, not just a function at the junction of trouble in your life.
If what you have chosen to do, decided to do, is a real decision and not for fashion (keeping up with someone else) or show (trying to impress the right people) then you are a "new creature, new creation" in Christ Jesus. You are brand new, a baby in Christ.
(If you decided for fashion or show, I invite you to get real, humble yourself before God -- see appendix G - Get Real Now).
A baby in Christ - this is literal, even though you may be an adult in years and body and experience, at this point of your spiritual life, you are a baby -- so accept that you are one, it's okay.
As a baby, some of your main functions are breathing, feeding, and being cleaned (changed from the mess you get in).
To ensure that this is something you are in touch with, it is important at this stage to ask Your Heavenly Father, God, for the Holy Spirit right now! He is ready to give to you.
How you ask? Let begin by reading Luke 11:9 -13. Jesus is speaking here, actually teaching his disciples (per their request) to Pray. After saying unto them in verse 2 "When you pray, say . . ." as an example of how to pray, Jesus continues to share with them in verses 5-8 by example of a friend in need. Then in verse 9 Jesus summarizes using a simple method.
Beginning with A for ask, then S for seek, and finally K for knock (ASK), he has shared in a practical way the different ways we can pray-- ask God, seek God, and knock on whatever door we find, in God. (More about these three later)
Now, Jesus assures us in verse 10 that everyone who does ask continually, receives continually; everyone who seeks continually, finds continually, and everyone who knocks continually, it (whatever) is opened continually;
