Singing Crystals

I'm a crystal therapist and I say - yes they can. You just have to learn to listen.

If you allow yourself to tune into crystal energy you are opening yourself to a whole new world of magic and joy. Crystals first and foremost come into your life to bring you joy in whatever way and capacity that is appropriate to you. It may be simply the pleasure of their beauty that lifts your spirits or the touch of them that gives you comfort. I can't think of, see or touch crystals without smiling and I know I am not alone.

I have had three crystal shops in different towns in Scotland and never tired of seeing the expressions on people's faces when studying the crystals on display.

My first shop was in a very busy shopping center in a rather depressed town with lots of out of work ex-miners - even the most cynical and hard-faced never left my space without at least touching one crystal and as often as not went out lighter than they came in no matter if they bought something or not - and they came back often bringing me samples they had found deep underground in days gone by.

My next was in a small alley opposite a noisy pub and I frequently had "drunks" drop in "just tae hae a look" who left clutching a touchstone of some description.

My last was in my home village and introduced me to many people in the village who had never had the courage to approach me before.

In all, the abiding memory is of people, of faces and experiences that were always enhanced by the crystals. Like the day Mary came into my life, this very tall lady in her early 40s opened the door and walked in with the biggest smile I have ever seen. I had never met her before but instantly recognized a kindred spirit.

Or the day David walked into my shop closed the door behind him and breathed a sigh of relief. He never talked much but he became a frequent visitor and spent hours with the crystals.

My friends are well used to me speaking of the crystals as sentient beings and we've had a lot of funny encounters. At health fair where a friend was helping me with my stall she admired a blue howlite egg, I said, "it"s dyed' and was extremely puzzled when she was very sympathetic to me, until I realized she thought I had said it had died. We howled and every time I looked at her or at the egg I couldn't control the laughter. Needless to say the egg was promptly presented to her.

It is possible to feel the distress of crystals too. Most smoky quartz today is actually clear quartz that has been irradiated to turn it black, you can feel it. I had one crystal in my possession for a long time that felt awful to hold, the only one ever, it was so badly damaged. It rests out in my garden beside some clear quartz but it will never be better.

You can also feel when crystals are tired, in need of cleansing and energizing. The most obvious is malachite, unlike most crystals that transform negative energy, malachite works by absorbing it into itself. When used up it becomes dull to touch and sight and will feel - well sort of quiet. Cleanse it and energies it before it gets to that stage and leave it on or near a clear quartz cluster to keep in active. More than anything else malachite loves being in the earth just don't forget where you buried it!

In the shops a frequent occurrence was for someone to finger a particular crystal, put it back, pick it up, put it down and walk away, only to come back later in a rush to see if it was still there. One woman told me she was on the bus home and has to get off at the first stop to come back for a tiny touchstone. If a crystal is meant for you it will let you know it. It is not the first time a crystal has been snatched out of another customer's hand and brought to the till cradled against a heaving breast. Similarly when it is time for it to move on, it does.

I thought with the change to selling on the internet I would lose quite a bit of that, but once again I hadn't reckoned on the power of the crystals. One buyer emailed to say she just had to bid for a crystal because every time she saw it on line it talked to her. When I was cleansing that same crystal in preparation to sending off, it positively sang at me, it felt like excitement at the change. The same lady bought a cluster that looked sad - it was one that has never been happy here, (I always thought it had an inferior complex) but now it is settled in its new home without its price ticket I am told it is blooming. I should have known, crystals don't like price tickets: some crystals just wouldn't tolerate price tickets they were always losing them but if you think about it how can you really put a monetary value on something so ethereal?

Yes they sing and talk and project emotions onto you. All crystals have a resonance that affects people in different ways. I am one of the fortunate that "hear" them. The crystal above my computer is full of angels and rainbows and almost purrs when anyone is near it. Many people experience an improvement in radio reception on their radio if they approach or touch the aerial. That antenna is picking your vibrational energy. Crystals do the same thing. Remember they store, amplify and transmit energy - that is why they are used in modern technology.

It isn't really a sound of course it is a vibration that part of me perceives as sound. It is a kind of thought projection - a transference of light energy, a frequency, that stimulates clairaudience - but it isn't a magical thought that they can actually sing to you?

Crystals are friends as well as healers. They open you to a whole new world of magic that can encourage you, heal you and bring you joy if you just allow them to.
