The Secret Power of Fire

Fire Opal Flame Ring represents the spirit of the fire and its collective embodiment in the three types of flame: fusion, friction, and electrical. The golden fire of the Sun illuminates the Earth with life and its warm touch nourishes all forms of growth.

In the image a radiant Fire Opal sits within the curling and licking golden flames of its 22 karat setting. The Mexican Fire Opal is an extraordinary specimine. It weighs 1.85ct. and is set in 8 grams of hand carved gold. Excluding the design time it took 108 solid hours to hand carve it out 92.75% pure gold.

Fire has an implicit duplicity, for it is the fire of passion and desire that leads to the birth of creation, and it is fire, that in the end, reduces all that’s in its path to ash. Some 400,000 years ago our ancestors discovered how to ignite the flame. Prometheus is said to have been severely punished by the Gods for sharing this wisdom with mere mortals.

Since this ancient time, fire is what has fuelled our progress and development, for better or worse, it has made all types of technology possible. With all its endless benefits fire is also the power operative behind all forms of modern weaponry, from the “firing” of a gun to the catastrophic atomic bomb. Perhaps this is why the Gods were so displeased with Prometheus.

As the element most clearly able to be manipulated by humanity, fire must be respected and directed towards creative endeavors rather than destructive ends. “Fire Opal Flame Ring” through material and symbolic imagery it harnesses the archetypal forces underlying the natural realm and enhances one’s vitality and strength. It directs the potent force of the flames and brings innovation, enthusiasm and greater passion into one’s life.

By stimulating the sub and unconscious passions—the “instincts of love”, it increases the sexual vigor of its bearer. It is especially auspicious for some one who has either their natal Sun, Mars or an exalted planet in the astrological sign of Aries, Leo or Sagittarius.

Yogis and sages studied the flame and looking past its appearance perceived the principles upon which its essence stood. They related the eye to the sun and indeed without light our eyes would have nothing to see. The eye relates to direction as it is the path of vision upon which we tread. The fire of digestion is what fuels our expression and movement.
