When my questions stop, pull my plug. Life would not be worth living if I had to live and accept anything without question. The World itself would end its advancement if we failed to question. Curiosity triggers questions and questions prompt corrective action. It is bad enough that for more than 2,000 years so many have been unquestioningly willing to live on the promise of hope and expectation, seeking only to receive or take, not to share or give.
We are all related to every other part of the Universe. Our composition is such that we are all mortal and prone to disease, malfunction, deterioration and accident as any other component in the Universe.
From babies to seniors, we are all equally vulnerable and there is no alternative other than the practical preventive, curative, corrective and mentally induced to keep us functioning. It is a weakness in individuals to look for ideological assistance through faiths that have not stopped conflict, ill health, famine , oppression, tidal waves, earthquakes, typhoons and floods that harm the innocent and the helpless among others.
We talk so much about the American Dream, but does anyone really know what it is? Especially in relation to his or her own future to focuse on it as a yardstick in how they apply themselves in their daily lives? Again in the pursuit of receiving, not the selfless caring for the common good.
Mothers are the truest examples of love and selflessness. Giving totally without expectation, of reward, return or appreciation. Are love and selflessness an essential part of the American Dream?
We need to come down to Earth. To learn to stand on our own feet. To look at ourselves and the way we are. To question our outlook on life and how we view and treat each other. Decide where we are going, what is true and worth following or adopting. How we can function best while we are on this Earth, how we can direct our lives and determine our destiny.
There is no hell to fear, no heaven to hope for except in this life where we may experience hell or heaven in accordance with how we live and how we treat our fellow beings. We need to make each new day better than the last, more exciting, more selflessly caring of others. We need to be self responsible and accountable for our actions.
We are no longer merely mortal, ending when our mortal self can no longer function. We have developed our consciousness and our minds, immortalized our spirits and our selves. We can now determine the course of our lives, our outlook, our lifestyles and our destinies. We are free to make this World a safe and productive home for all beings. It is time we did.
