KKK

The infamous Ku Klux Klan.

The Ku Klux Klan was a secret white supremacist organization. At various times in American history, The Klan terrorized blacks and white sympathizers with violent acts such as lynching (or hanging), shooting, and whipping. There have been multiple gangs who have tried this idea again, but for the most part this type of organization has faded away with the new laws that the government has passed in recent decades.

Members of the confederate army who refused to take part in the Reconstruction first founded the Ku Klux Klan in 1866. The organization was in decline from 1868 to 1870 and was destroyed in the early 1870s by President Ulysses S. Grant's actions on forming the Civil Rights Act of 1871. Once again in 1915 there was another clan that used the same name and was for the same act. This clan was formed after the lynching of Leo Frank.
