Peruvian Culture

Peru's rich culture is is derived in part by the integration of several other cultures into it.

Like other South America countries, Peru has come across several other European and Asian cultures and has included a number of other other cultural aspect into the web of its own colorful culture. The two main influences that have melded with the native Peruvian culture are the Hispanic and the Amerindian traditions. As a result, these influences are visible in every field of cultural activities, such as music, dance, festivals, literature and other art forms.

Peruvian culture has left its own marks of superiority in almost every form of artistry. For a long time it sustained the high quality of art of the native people known as the Inca. They excelled in fields of jewelery, pottery, sculpture, architecture, and many more. After the Spanish influence during the colonized period, there developed a particular form of art known as the Mestizo, a form of drawing. A strong example of the mastery of the Inca culture is the hill town of Machu Picchu, which stands as a paragon of ancient architecture, and has even been named one of the seven wonders of the world.

Peru has its own unique distinction in the field of music and dance as well. Before the Hispanic influence there had been a number of musical instrument that created by the native Peruvians. Some of these musical instrument are, the quenna, pinkillo and many more. Most of the foreign influence on Peru music has resulted in the evolution of the musical instruments. Many dance forms that were native were also influenced by other cultures and have made Peru culture all the more colorful and rich.
