For most religions, rituals are very important because it is the way that we are able to appease angry gods and goddesses, but these ones are just so unusual.
1. Male Initiation
You may have heard about this group wherein the younger males are supposed to be raped by a male elder to be known as a grown up man'. Many conservative groups have questioned this ritual since it promotes homo sexuality, but the leader answered these by saying that it's not about the gender or the sexuality of the person, but on how they are able to please their gods and goddesses.
2. Blood Drinking

It can be that Dracula really lives since there are people who drink blood for their ritual. We hear that there's a place in Asia that drink the blood of Cobra, but don't you know that there is this group that drinks the blood of a human, a young girl or lady being offered to the gods and goddesses. After drinking the blood, they will further dismember the body into parts and burn it.
3. Cleansing by fire

For those who are known to be witches are burnt to die, but actually there's also a group of people who believed that it is the way their souls are cleansed. For them, the act of killing themselves is a heroic deed and is therefore recognized. Inside the Catholic faith, there were many notable people who were burned because of the accusation that they were witched and one of them is Joan of Arc. It is most likely that those people who believe this one to be ritual feel that this is also the way to salvation.
4. Firer walking

Although it already became a fun game for others, for ancient civilization it's not. In the past, the people let the gods and goddesses participate. They believe that the only way of knowing whether a person is really guilty of the crime by fire walking. It is because they believe that if the person is really innocent then the gods should protect him or her.
5. Sitting While on The State Of Delivery
It is popular in the early days of nursing history in the Philippines that pregnant women during the time of delivery should sit down. It is to give luck to the mother, child and the entire family. Personally, I do not really know the true meaning of the ritual but since rituals are suppose to bring good luck then I stick to it.
