The Cosmopolitan has to be – as ladies – our favourite cocktail! Even before days of Sex And The City, we loved everything about the Cosmo. We loved the sexy red colour, the smooth, fruity taste and the seductive glasses we served them in, not to mention the high alcoholic volume! Especially since Carrie Bradshaw hit the streets of Manhattan, we have all enjoyed these wonderful vodka cocktails and every major bar has been adding them to their menus in order to meet the high demand, because us ladies know what we like – and what we love.
…But is it just the taste we love or is it something else?
The Cosmopolitan has always been a very sexy drink. It makes a statement that we, as women, are strong and powerful and sexy – and we embrace all of this each time we order and adore the stiff yet feminine beverage with its unique and unmistakable glass. Certain things in life which we reap pleasure from say a lot about us and who we are as people – and the Cosmo is definitely one of those things!
Women of Venus thought we would share the very popular recipe so that each and every one of us can treat ourselves, regardless of whether we are at home alone with a DVD or the girls are round for one of those fantastic nights in!
You will need:
4 parts Absolut Citron Vodka
2 parts Cointreau or Triple Sec
2 parts Cranberry Juice
1 part Lime Juice
To make:
Shake all four ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
If you want your cocktails to have that extra flair and class, decorate the rim of your glass with a strawberry and slice of lime!
