Women empowerment, Surely, Filipinos know that by heart. Infact, we are among the top countries that uphold gender equality and women's rights. Well, at least in this arena, we toppled even the US! Imagine we have had total of two women presidents, considering that the Philippines is quite a young democracy. In addition, women of today have already proven their abilities and intelligence, holding high positions in various fields and heading top companies and industries. It only goes to show that what men can do, women can do as well.
In this modern age, who cares about gender? We are all now on an equal footing, playing on an even field. It should be no issue at all if the right one for a particular position is a man or a woman. At the end of the say, our credentials and qualifications should judge us, not by gender. Whether the male or the female is superior sex or fighting for women's rights should not be an issue, either. We just have to go for equality and upholding the rights of all, men, women, children even animals. The keyword here is not only equality but, more important, respect for one another. Mother Theresa, when she was still alive, once said she would not join an anti-war rally, but she was all for peace rallies.
