With a few organizational tips, you can make life less stressful for yourself and more rewarding for your children.
- Find the right child provider - Make of list of your needs and get referrals. Don't forget to background check your childcare provider.
- Hire a cleaning service to clean your home at least every other week. You can't spend quality time with your family if you're running around doing chores on the weekends.
- Find ways to eliminate tasks, chores, or meetings - Delegate and prioritize your life, a great book read Steven Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It will really help to get you organized and living stress free.
- Delegate household chores - Have a job chart for the kids and attach their allowance to finishing their chores.
- Set up a car pool for school and activities with other working moms. This will save gave and help you become a little bit more flexible in the hours you work.
- Learn to cook and freeze meals - Make double and freeze it.
- Take one hour a week just for you. - As mom's we tend to forget we need time for ourselves. Make time for yourself even if it's just a 10-mud mask.
- Have an emergency plan in place. -A first aid kit and a list of emergency contact numbers will help your kids feel more confident about staying at home alone. We installed an alarm system with panic buttons connected to Fire, First Aid, and Police numbers.
Going back to work is a very stressful and the separation from your child can be a guilt free experience if you prepare ahead.
