Problems in The Globalized Fashion Industry

Problems faced by the workers in companies and shops in less economically developed countries.

The globalized fashion industry is almost everywhere in the world, but have you ever wondered about the working conditions of the people that work for the company? I think you have not, and you want to know some of those working conditions, because I am about to tell you. The first paragraph will be about conditions faced by the workers in the LEDCs(Less Economicly Developed Countries).

The second paragraph will be about a TNC (Trans-National Companies eg.Nike) thats goods produced in LEDCS. Then the final paragraph will be things that we can do to solve the problems faced by those workers in LEDCs. After you have read this you will know about the working conditions faced by the workers of the global fashion industry.

The first thing are some of the problems faced by the workers in the LEDCs. The first things that some workers face are low pay, its a bad thing because the workers work many hour most of the time and they get only about 20 dhs. The second thing is the places that the workers live in, the places they live in are like a prison because they have a fence so they cant escape and they live with about 6 people in the same small room and to them its torture.

The final thing is the way that they work, like when they work they have to work in sweatshops and they have a little space to sow the stuff together to make the clothes it takes a lot of effort and time but they dont get much out of it. These are some problems faced by the workers in the LEDCs.

The next thing is about a specific TNC, Nike that gets all of its goods produced in LEDCs. The first thing is that Nike doesnt go to expensive countries they go to poor countries and treat the workers badly and pay them low just so they can gain more profit. The next thing is that when nike makes the people work in the sweat shops they dont tell people or in otherwards they hide it so people wont know that they are treating them the way they are. The last thing is that the company aims for money at all costs even at the cost of letting the workers work themselves to death or at least until they are really old so thats how they get the millions of dollars from cheap labor. This is an example of a TNC that gets its goods produced in LEDCs.

The final thing is some things that we can do to to help some of the problems faced in the LEDCs. The first thing we can do is protest against the company's and stop buying from the companies unless they raise the wage for the workers in the sweat shops. Another thing is that the company's can pay the workers more but then they will raise the prices so they will not lose any profits so then everyone will be happy that is related to the company. The final thing is that we will just ask the companies to pay the workers that work there more and hope that they listen. These are some of the things we can do to help the conditions of the workers in the LEDCs.

In conclusion the working conditions of the workers for most companies in the world arent really that great and the people in those companies should give the workers a better life. You first heard about the problems faced by the workers that work for the companies in the LEDCs. The second thing you heard about is about Nike and example of a TNC that gets just about everything it produces in LEDCs. Then finally you have heard things we can do to improve the working conditions for the people that work in LEDCs. You thould take time to think about the way the people live that work for the companies and yourself you will see that they have things bad for them.
