I've worked for this state over 20 years. I've seen it turn from a great place to work with great benefits to an unbearable place to work with I can't afford to see my doctor coverage.
Used to be everyone wanted a state job with good pay, hard work and great medical coverage. This was all true and then something happened, a new generation of wussies came into control.
No one gets fired anymore they just get promoted and or moved so they can harass other employees. The only raises I've seen in the last eight years have been accompanied by an equal increase in medical premiums. And, our union has more then doubled its fees for all their hard work to get us here.
Some time ago I was even harassed by a supervisor brandishing a weapon. That person got transferred and I got demoted. When I contacted the Federal Attorney General (Janet Reno at the time) regarding this, I was told to get a lawyer. My letter stated I already had a lawyer and was informing her of the situation. I also contacted the local news radio stations and they were afraid to publish it. It's so sad, much more goes on but clearly no one cares.
I dare not say more as I'm not sure what ramifications lie in store for me.
