Before I had my daughter, I worked as a nurse. I started out as floor nurse in a nursing home. This job had minimal executive responsibilities. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this role did not fit me well. As an LPN, advancement is a rather difficult thing. Most administrative jobs go to RN’s. However, I was determined to advance myself and succeeded. Within a year, I was Charge Nurse. Six months latter, I became the Assistant Director of Nursing.
