After the tsunami in December 2005 once again Indonesian people we hit by disaster. On Monday 17th July 2006 at 15.19 GMT+7 a huge waves hit West and central Java beaches. This wave was caused by 6.8 Richter earthquake,33 km below the sea surface at Hindia Ocean. The effect of this earthquake spread through Jkarta (Indonesian Capital City).
Till now more than 100 people reported death and hundreds people missing. Most casulties come from Cilacap, Kebumen and Pangandaran.
The tsunami also cut the electricity in central Java off. Karangkadri power plant was totally destroyed by this wave. Two Karangkadri enginners was injured and one death.
The tsiunami also destroyed hudred of hauses and fishin boats. The industrial area in central java also get heavy damage because of this tsunami.
