End of the World and the Antichrist

To many people, December 21 2012 is a signifigant date in their minds. Many sources are calling this date the last day of humanity on earth. All of this info and more, can be found here.

Official Apocalypse Website: December212012.com

The Mayan calendar ends on this day. They mapped it out hundreds of years after their own time. Their calendar was accurate enough to predict eclipses hundreds of years in the future. They believed this date in 2012 to be a new start for earth. The era of dinosaurs being over made it possible for us. Are we to make way for something else?

Nostradamus has predicted the world wars, fall of presidents, and the first two antichrists by name. He has predicted the end on this same day. He predicts word war III and the third antichrist and his name, but we'll get to that.

It's not all premonition and such. The earth's crust and center rotates at different speeds, and it creates a wobble that's been there as long as the earth. This rotation also gives the earth its electromagnetic properties. Einstein predicted polar shift in 2012. The spinning electro-magnetic properties of the earth are going to change drastically, and magnetic North and South will become reversed. There is scientific evidence that's already happening, and that is has happened before.

There are crop circles telling us of this the same day.

The I-Ching may be the oldest book in the world, and used by the ancient Chinese. They also point to this date as the last day. The question is how did all of these cultures, spread all over the world, working with different calendars, hundreds of years before some of these continents were even discovered, all come up with the same date?

Is Barack Obama the antichrist? There is so much antichrist prophecy that fits. If you believe in 2012 as being the end time, then he makes sense. We don't have much time left for his appearance. The Antichrist prophecy tells us the last antichrist has connections to the Middle East. Obama's middle name is Hussein, and his father and step father were Muslim. Prophecy tells us he seeks out the highest position in the land and promises peace. He will take the weapons from the common man using that promise of peace. In four years he will betray that, and the people who followed will be helpless because he has taken their way to defend themselves away. He will be instrumental in starting world war III. Obama wants to outlaw all kinds of personal arms. His presidency would last four years, and the end of which would bring us to 2012.

Nostradamus predicted Napoleon by name. The next he called Hister. We all know about the antichrist Hitler. The last one he called Mabus. It's a very unusual name. Most have never heard of it. A coincidence is highly unlikely and the chances are astronomical. Obama's advisor is named Ray Mabus.

The end of days and the antichrist coincide with each other. They will Prove/disprove each other.

Some voted against him, because some are afraid of the antichrist getting what he wants. Some voted for him because the end times, the rapture, and the return of Jesus can't happen until the antichrist prophecy is fulfilled. What about you? Did this make you look at the election differently?

Don’t Forget: The End of the World is in Four Years

There is something to be said for legend and predictions. In ancient Rome there was the “Prophecy of the Twelve Eagles”, which said that Rome would last for twelve centuries. How long did Rome last – roughly 1200 years, give or take a decade or two.

The winter solstice is on 21, December 2012, on that date, at 11:12am GMT, the earth, sun and central black hole of the Milky Way are said to align. It is also when the world is supposed to end according to the Mayan calendar and concept of time and New Age believers. The earth’s 25, 625 yr orbit in the Milky Way is divided by 5 ages of 5,125, which according to some started in 3114 B.C. and the time of the Great Flood after which civilisation was reborn, so to speak. During that time some people believe we have been through four seasons and are currently in the last – winter, the time of environmental and human abuse and destruction. If one looks at Mesoamerican, Hopi and Ojibwa legend – we could be in for it.

Back to the Mayans and the Aztecs and their cyclical calendars and the prophecy of “The Dark Nines”. In Mayan creation stories there were between one to five civilisations previous to ours that were created by the gods and destroyed by flood, fire and wind. Mesoamerican calendars (both Mayan and Aztec) were based on a 260-day year and were independent of the solar year; they utilise a complex system of mathematics that would take far too long to explain. The Mayan year was 260 days, in this cycle of fives. Not only did they have a cycle of 5 x 5,125, they also had a cycle of 51.25 years. The Aztec calendar worked on our 365-day schedule, the xuipohualli, plus a 260-day ritual routine, the tonalpohualli, which somehow combined to make the 52-year cycle. The prophecy revolves around the return of the light-haired Aztec god Quetzacoatl through a hole in the sky and the reclamation of his North American Kingdom. In November 1519, right on cue for that period of the cycle, Cortéz landed and promptly took control of part of México, as they believed he was the god (I’ve always suspected he was aware of the prophecies, having been informed of by spies, and took advantage.). This happened at the end of one of their 461-year cycles and brought about a period of darkness lasting, according to some, 461 years – roughly 1981 when many of the Residential Schools in North America were closed. The final date of the 5, 125 year cycle has been calculated as 4 years from now. The calendar stops then and there. There is no future. Or is there? Some writers feel that the end of this 5,125-year cycle involves the meeting of the First Father, the solstice sun, with the First Mother, a rift in the Milky Way and that this will result in a rebirth of sorts.

There are some doomsday legends amongst the Indians of North America with varying outcomes. The Mohawks have the prophecy of the Seventh Generation. After seven generations of living amongst the Europeans, trees will begin to die, animals will be born deformed, air will burn people’s eyes, the rivers will be polluted and the earth will be torn up. At this juncture, the Mohawk will rise up and claim stewardship of the land. The Seneca have three signs of the end of the world. They say that water will be undrinkable, that trees will die from the top downwards and that babies will be killed in large numbers. The Cherokee also speak of the end times as when the earth is covered by a spider’s web. To all of us reading this, well – are we not on the World Wide Web! Or is it something more mundane they foretold of, like roads or all the telephone lines or the cables connecting all these computers. The Iroquois have a series of battling serpents. The white serpent of North America wars with the Red Serpent that comes from the North. Exhausted, they accept each other in truce. Then a black serpent, dripping seawater, rears it head and defeats the other serpents only to be driven back by an intense light. The red serpent returns to its home and the white serpent will approach the light.

The Hopi, of the southwestern US also have a tradition of a Queztalcoatl-like god, Panhana, the “lost white brother”, who comes from the east and brings destruction and spiritual renewal. In Hopi mythology, we are currently in the fourth time of humanity. In the past, the people would not live morally and so were destroyed, once by flood; Tawa, the creator, brought the few obedient souls, in a physically evolved form, to the next, higher, different world. Pahana was the “elder brother” who went to the East during this migration. It is thought that they, too, considered the possibility of the Spanish Conquistadors being the fulfilment of this prophecy. They also have a series of signs meant for the Hopi themselves to tell them of the arrival of the fifth time: white skinned people who strike their enemies with thunder (guns?), spinning wheels with voices (settlers in covered wagons?), a beast with long horns (longhorn cattle?), snakes of iron on the land (railway?), a spider’s web on the land (phones/the web?), rivers of stone on the land (roads?), seas turn black (oil slicks/pollution?), long-haired people who seek our wisdom (1960s?) and then a dwelling in the sky like a blue star that will fall (Mir/space shuttle?). In addition there is set of predictions regarding the end of the world and metaphorical “earthquakes”. The first is that men would ride in horseless wagons. Some take that to mean WWI but it could also be construed as cars and other forms of road transportation. The second is when men would fly. Again, some take this to mean WWII. The third is when men build a house in space and go to live there. I’ll leave that to the reader’s imagination. It could mean the Mir space station – it could mean something more. Then the white people will battle those in the land of early wisdom and there will be a gourd of ashes dropped from the sky that boils the sea and burns the land, the Hopi will stay out of the war and rebuild afterwards with the help of Pahana. Then some Hopi will leave earth in a “ship without wings” while the rest are purified.

The Ojibwa of Canada speak of “Seven Fires”, seven times of divination. At one time, long ago, they lived in Atlantic Canada and were visited by seven prophets who warned them of intruders yet to come. They were told to go to the land of the setting sun where food grew on water (Lake Superior has wild rice), via seven migration periods, and during the Fourth Fire they would meet white men who would be friends (the French, “the wooden-boat people”) and merge to form a new people (the Métis). Those who did not listen and stayed on the coast would meet those who brought death (the English, “the off-shore ones” and the Americans, the “big-knives”) and be annihilated. In the Fifth Fire, a prophet would bring false promises resulting in the Sixth Fire when the descendants would turn against the elders, clan teachings, tradition and language and there would be sickness. All I know is that today, the Ojibwa Nation (Shania Twain being one of the most noted) is around the Great Lakes and the US/Canada border and the Métis are out West, that the French once developed a trading network with the Ojibwa, that many children were placed into Residential Schools during the 19th and 20th centuries and that there are problems with current aboriginal youth, especially with substance abuse. At the end of seven periods, the water of their land will be poisoned, the forests cut down, most animals killed and the air would be of poor quality. Then a new people will come from the clouds and find the wisdom and the instructions of the Creator that the Elders know and save the land. The light-skinned peoples will be given a choice to listen to the wisdom and be peaceful or bring death to all the Earth.

Many doomsday predictions, like creation myths, have startling similarities. Of course, it does help to take these predictions with the proverbial “pinch of salt”. It is unlikely that aliens will land, we will leave earth, the poles will flip, earth will be hit by an asteroid, the sun will superflare (the sunspot cycle will peak around then and the sun’s magnetic fields may reverse) or the earth will split apart. In addition, there is always the question of whether prophecy is self-fulfilling and, of course, interpretation. However, regardless of whether these prophecies of doom come true or not, what we perceive them as may be just as important. Perhaps that is why they exist – simply as a warning or a reminder for humans to change our ways and become human.

Nuclear Winter: Fulfilling the Sixth Seal

Nuclear winter is predicted to be the outcome of a nuclear war. According to Debora Mac Kenzie of Newscientist.com, a nuclear winter may kill more than the fatalities of the war itself (deboramackenzie, 2007).

It is predicted a long time ago in the Bible. It is never understood throughout the ages, until now-where it is meant to be understood (Daniel 12:8-9). What are the horrible effects of nuclear war? Can it really turn sun into black and moon into blood? Can it fall stars like unripe figs when shaken by a high wind? Can it move mountains and islands from another place that could force the kings of the earth to hide in the caves?

What Revelation 6:12-15 (NIV) Says

“I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.”

The Great Earthquake

Heraldmag.org in its article Biblical Earthquakes: What Do They Mean? by Adam Kopczyk, said that Seismos is the Greek word for earthquake, which is commonly found throughout the New Testament (adamkopczyk, 2006).

In Strong's Greek Dictionary (#4578) it means “a commotion (of the air) a gale; (of the ground) an earthquake.” On some instances, the word earthquake in the New Testament scriptures also used to describe great calamities such as cyclones, hurricanes, tornadoes and tempest.

“And, behold there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.” Matthew 8:24 (KJV)

The word “seismic” also means shock. The Geological Survey of Canada analyzes seismic activities by studying the earth's interior through examination of shock waves that have traveled through the subsurface. These shock waves can be either natural or artificial (naturalresourcescanada).

Now just pretend that you are Apostle John who has no idea about the modern era we are living in. Then watch this video carefully:

Face Of Death - Nuclear Explosions - Click here for funny video clips

Is there any calamity or “seismos” that could be greater than the one you've seen? How can you describe this if it occurs as a vision? Surely, a man who has no idea of a nuclear armament could be mistaken this as a force of nature.

Sun Turned Black

Sciencedaily.com has posted on its news that a team of scientists found out that even a small-scale, regional nuclear war could produce too many fatalities that could surpass deaths from World War II. This devastation as they have concluded will lead to a climate phenomenon known as nuclear winter (sciencedaily, 2006).

A nuclear war could produce enough fires to burn anything within its blast zone creating huge billows of smoke that will accumulate in the stratosphere. Carl Sagan said these massive fires will reduce the amount of sunlight, too dark for plants to make a living from photosynthesis. Temperature will drop, creating a premature winter. Skies will be darkened, so thick it could cover the sun even in daylight-a darkness that could produce the eerie black of death and famine due to the sudden change of temperature. Crops will not yield and will eventually die out (carlsagan).

Moon Became Blood

After the blast and shockwave, a mushroom cloud will burn all combustible materials within its radius creating mega wildfires. These would produce ashes and oily smokes that contains mix of smoke particles, some smaller than 1 micron turning the moon red. In San Jose, California, many have witnessed this typical occurrence in a forest fire (sanjosefire, 2008):

The moon, of course, will also be covered by thick clouds of smoke and haze but on the other part of the earth where it may be possible-it could be seen as bloody red.

Stars Falling from Sky

From the experience of US soldiers who participated in the Operation Desert Storm, an article entitled “Remembering the Whirlwind War” by Heike Hasenauer published from Soldiers, the official US Army Magazine on its February 2001 issue, page 29-30; Major Martin Poffenberger recounted that: “When we realized that Patriot missiles were hitting the Scuds that Saddam launched against Riyadh, we felt comfortable going up the rooftops and watching the light show, it was like watching SHOOTING STARS” (hasenauer, 2001)

To have a clearer and better picture about missiles that look like shooting stars, a video “Patriot vs SCUD Missile Engagement” is available.

Coincidentally according to Najmeh Bozorgmehr of Ft.com, Iran had test fired their ballistic missiles named Shahab-3, which means in Arabic “shooting stars” (najmehbozorgmehr, 2008).

If you watched the video especially the missiles being launched from mobile rocket launchers, those missiles will return and fall to earth like figs being dropped from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.

Some have concluded that these stars are asteroids, comets or even planets that are destined to collide with earth. But the global effects of this horrifying cataclysm are too much intense and overkill. It is predictable, with signs very much conflicting from the Bible point of view (planetarycollision, 2008).

Sky Receded Like a Scroll

Joseph Verrengia in his article, “The Atom: From Theory to Awesome Reality-and Explosive Questions” on page 3 describes a nuclear explosion as an enormous ball of fire that grew and grew and it ROLLED as it grew (josephverrengia, 1999).

Just like an ancient scroll. Answers.com defines a scroll as a ROLL, as of parchment of papyrus, used especially for writing a document. This mushroom clouds, if seen from below rolled inward receding like a scroll of radioactive dust, fire and debris being plummeted into the sky.

Atomic Bomb Test

Mountains and Islands Moved

In 1952 at Eniwetok Atoll, the first experimental thermo nuclear device codenamed: IVY MIKE was tested. It measures 3 ¼ miles in diameter (part2ofnts).

If you scroll further, two photos of the atoll from the Department of Energy can be seen. One is before and the other, after detonation. The blast of this 10.4mt warhead had made some part of the island disappeared!

If you could see how huge the crater that a nuclear blast could create, it could move or even level mountains within its blast radius (nuclearblastcrater).

Hiding in the Caves

In 1962, the Cuban Missile Crisis, which triggered by the Soviet Union by placing nuclear missiles in Cuba created a panic and trend of building a nuclear shelter in case of a nuclear war.

To assert readiness from a sudden nuclear attack, US government has designated Cheyenne Mountains as a command center, digging and removing 700,000 tons of granite and placing two 25-ton blast doors to protect the 15 tunnel-like buildings 2,400 feet underground (robertweller, 2006)

What makes the government think that they must build a nuclear shelter in the mountains? Globalsecurity.org answers that, “Reverse slopes of hills and mountains give some nuclear protection. Heat and light from the fireball of a nuclear blast and the initial radiation tend to be absorbed by hills and mountains” (globalsecurity, fieldmanual3-4).

This elaborate artificial cave like systems is called CMAH or Cheyenne Mountain Alternate Headquarters. It is a back-up command and control center employed by COMMANDERS-IN-CHIEF of US Strategic Command (globalsecurity, cmah).

On April 16, 1996, New York Times reported a mysterious underground military base constructed inside the Yamantau mountain in Beloretsk of the southern Urals. The New York Times quoted Russian officials that it is being considered as a bunker for RUSSIA'S LEADERS in case of nuclear war (globalsecurity, yamantau).

During world war I and II, government leaders, military commanders, wealthy individuals and the greater populace affected by the war have a basic instinct of survival-hide in the caves or underground if a bombing will take place. And this will stay as a mode of survival for us, until the commencement of World War III.

The Nuclear Winter of Revelation 6:12-15

From the facts we gathered above, we could conclude that the great earthquake is a sudden nuclear blast with enormous shockwave, thus creating tremors. Tremendous heat from the explosion will create smoke, covering the sun with thick black clouds creating a nuclear winter. On other parts of the world when at night, the moon will turn red because of smoke and fire. More nuclear missiles will fall from the sky creating further numerous mushroom clouds that would roll inward and upward as it grows, leaving craters that could level terrain including islands and mountains. Leaders of the world and all men have no option but to hide in mountains where nuclear shelters are being built.

“I will display wonders in the heavens and on the earth: Blood, fire and columns of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and inspiring Day of the Lord comes.” (Joel 2:30-31)

For it is prophesied, nuclear war will happen.

How to Avoid Armageddon in Three Easy Steps

As we approach the year 2012, an increasing number of people are filling their hearts and minds with anticipation for cataclysm. More and more are coming to believe in the various "prophetic" writings on the subject of apocalypse. Many see the signs of the times indicating the coming fulfillment of what they think are prophecies in the book of Revelation from the Bible. Likewise, a growing number of individuals feel that the enigmatic verses of Nostradamus predict great disaster in the near future. Then to top it all off, modern "prophets", are interpreting the 2012 cycle ending target date on the Mayan calendar as coinciding with Armageddon. When one considers what might be the consequences of such a growing collective belief, the possibilities are a bit awesome and perhaps somewhat frightening, as well.

Examining the Nature of Belief

However, before we delve into any conclusions about these possibilities, let's first examine the nature and power of belief. There is a considerable body of evidence, which suggest that our very reality is of a flexible or relative nature. We shape our own personal realities by what we believe. Some theorists have proposed the idea that reality is a shared illusion, which all of humanity have subconsciously agreed upon, based on our limited perceptions. In essence we manifest our reality both consciously and subconsciously by our very beliefs. If this is true, then it could be the most straightforward explanation for what many call miraculous events. With virtually every miracle described in the New Testament, we see portrayed the important necessity of belief, or faith. Time and again we read Jesus insisting to the recipients of his miracles that they must believe. That belief must not have any doubt, if it is to be effective. Belief without doubt appears to be an integral part of the process of bringing the manifestation about.

Doubtless Examples

This doubtless element is well illustrated in two different stories in the New Testament of the Bible, (here quoting from the New American Standard Version). Both of these gospel quotations are found in the book of Matthew.

First let's look at the gospel of Matthew, in chapter 18, verses 14-20. In this passage we read the story of a man who brought his afflicted son to Jesus begging for mercy, and stating that the disciples could not cure him. In verse 17 Jesus responded by saying, "O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to me." NAS version

It seems the disciples let their lingering doubts undermine their faith. Later in verse 19, they asked Jesus privately, why they could not cure the man's son. In verse 20 he responded, "Because of the littleness of your faith; truly I say to you, if you have the faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, "Move from here to there," and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you." NAS version

In other words when doubt undermines your beliefs, faith is little, and reality can not be transformed. Conversely when there is no doubt, when belief is strong, and faith is growing ever larger, then no transformation of reality is beyond our scope.

Secondly, the same point can be seen also in the gospel of Matthew chapter 14 verses 22-33, where according to the story, Jesus walked on the surface of water. In verses 29 and 30 we read of Peter enthusiastically trying to walk on the water to meet Jesus. He had only taken a few steps, when he became afraid and started to sink. In verse 31 we find the response from Jesus.

Matt. 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”NAS version

Once again we see Peter letting his doubt overcome his belief. This passage shows us the power of belief and the flip side equal but opposite disabling power of doubt.

Our Collective Expectations Create Manifestations

With that said, let's return to the original subject. There is in our world today a growing belief that we are now quickly approaching Armageddon. As this belief becomes greater, and more people anticipate this cataclysmic fate with increasing certainty, we will cause it to happen simply because we expect it. If we allow this trend to continue we will bring about Armageddon by our own anticipation of it. Our collective expectations will create the manifestation, thus being the actual cause of these horrific tribulations. By seeing this, we now realize that these “prophetic visions of the future”, are not actually foretelling of things to come, but the very force which shapes these future events into existence. The inescapable conclusion is that these "prophecies" manipulate the collective human subconscious, and bring about the very calamities they pretend to warn us against. But this is not true of all prophecies, and it certainly was not the original intention of most in the ancient world. The ancient Prophets foretold doom, in order to motivate change in the ways of the populace. If the people continued in their wayward behaviors, then their karma was to see the prophecies fulfilled. On the other hand, if they changed their ways, then the doom would not come after all. A good example of this use of prophecy can be found in the Bible's New Testament book of Luke, chapter 11, verses 29-32 (here quoted from the New International Version.)

Luke 11 : 29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon's wisdom, and now one greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here.” NIV

In these verses we find Jesus mixing together three different yet related messages into this prophecy.

These Three Components Are . . .

A bold declaration regarding his own status as a prophet, stating that he, (Jesus) had more wisdom than Solomon, and greater prophetic influence than Jonah.

He alludes to the hope embodied in the repentance of the Ninevites. They avoided the doom of Jonah's prophecies by changing their ways.

He says that the only sign given to that generation was the “sign of Jonah”.

The Sign of Jonah

What, you may ask is this “sign of Jonah”? Some have interpreted this as a prophecy of his impending death, entombment for 3 days, and resurrection. This reference to Jonah would then presumably point to the story of Jonah being swallowed by a great fish for 3 days, and then emerging unscathed to deliver his prophecies to the Ninevites. There is a serious problem with this interpretation. It is not what Jesus said about Jonah's accomplishments. Rather, his focus was on Jonah as a sign to the Ninevites, what he achieved as an actual prophet. In this we find much deeper meaning to his cryptic reference, “sign of Jonah”.

What did Jonah Accomplish?

To find that meaning we need to dig deeper into the history of Jonah. What did Jonah accomplish? The answer is not just escaping from a great fish's belly. That is no doubt a mythic / legendary part of Jonah's story, not of an actual historic nature. Besides, this whole fish story was not even the point of Jonah's chronicle. He was sent on a mission, and that's where the important part of the narrative is found. We uncover a significant clue in verse 32 of the above passage. In this verse Jesus tells us that the Ninevites “… repented at the preaching of Jonah …” So, the answer is that Jonah was successful at changing the ways of the populace to which he presented his prophecy. In other words Jonah saved the Ninevites from their doom, by leading them to repentance. When Jesus refers to the “sign of Jonah”, he is making the comparison between the impact of Jonah as a prophet, and his own impact as a prophet. Thus, the “sign of Jonah” is our one opportunity to be saved from the doom of Armageddon. It never had anything to do with a comparison between three days in a fish, and three days in a tomb.

So, what can we do about this?

The solution is amazingly simple, and can be broken down into a 3 step method…

The First Step is to doubt the impending doom of Armageddon. Just as belief has the power to transform reality, doubt has the power to disable transformation. If we continue to believe without doubt in the prophecies of doom, we will transform our reality into this doom. Conversely if we cease to believe in the "end times", then we'll render inoperative the transformative powers which would contribute to bringing the tribulations about. By sowing the seeds of doubt, we can begin the process of saving ourselves from Armageddon. However, if this strategy is to work, this doubt must be widespread and pervasive. It must be felt far and wide, in order to have enough impact. Therefore, I would encourage anyone who reads this article to tell as many others as can be told, about the concepts dealt with herein.

Spread the word; "Doubt the end is near."

Doubt it with a vengeance!

Doubt it with every breath!

Doubt it when you eat!

Doubt it when you pray!

And if you can manage it, even Doubt it when you sleep!

If enough of humanity can collectively doubt Armageddon, then together we can take the first step toward fulfilling the sign of Jonah, and avoid cataclysm. But this doubt is not enough by itself. It's merely the first step in the three-step approach.

The Second Step is to believe in a positive alternative. We must believe that we deserve to have a different fate than tribulations. With this we can begin to change our own karma from the negative to the positive. Then collectively we can make a far better future for ourselves; a future with positive anticipation, not one that simply gives in to the doom. Simultaneously, we can use both the power of doubt, and the power of belief to our advantage. We must doubt the negative, and anticipate the positive in its place. Believe not in Armageddon; instead believe in a future of peace and harmony. And if enough of us believe in that, we can make it so.

Mandala of Peace on Earth by Bill M. Tracer Studio

And then take The Third Step; that is to turn our doubts in the negative and beliefs in the positive into action. This is the most important step toward fulfilling the sign of Jonah, and it means changing our ways; to heal a dying Earth and battered Humankind. It means to be a part of bringing about a peaceful world community with respect for the human rights of all people, and with respect for our Mother Earth. It means actively seeking to heal those parts of the Earth, where we have done harm to the ecosystems. It means ending the wars! It means rebuilding that which has been torn down. It means actively changing our lifestyles to expand responsible use of natural resources, no longer squandering them. It means growing our use of alternative energy supplies, including solar, and wind. It means melting away the borders that divide us, and seeing ourselves as citizens of the Earth, one people united worldwide and someday beyond. It means finally and truly loving your neighbor as yourself, and it means stepping up to the realization that ALL people are included as our neighbors. For it to be genuine, no one can be excluded.

The Key is in the Permanence of Change

When Jonah delivered God's message to the Ninevites, he predicted the devastation of their culture if they did not repent, and change their behavior. They did repent, and were spared the destruction, at that time. But the ultimate end of their story illustrates that any change of action must be ongoing. Any such change, by necessity, has to be permanent and full time. The Ninevites did not make a permanent alteration to their ways. Their repentance was sadly temporary. In time they returned to their old ways and a few generations after the time of Jonah, their culture was wiped off the face of the Earth. Now, all that is left of them are bad memories, very little crumbling ruins, some poorly constructed incomplete reconstructions, and a few small relics. Is this to be our fate?

It doesn't have to be!

Like the Ninevites had, we now have a choice. Either outcome is open to us. We can alter the path we walk, and begin to clean up the mess we've made thus far, or do nothing and idly watch as the four horsemen run us down. Let's choose change, and bypass Armageddon.

Planetary Collision or Nuclear War?

The Book of Revelation mentioned about a star called Wormwood, which will fall from the sky bringing death to many people. What is this star? Is it a heavenly body passing through our solar system or is it due to make a flyby near our own planet, thus creating natural calamities far greater than man could ever imagine? Maybe, it's a missile armed with nuclear device prophesied to poison our water source. Whatever it may be, we have to open our mind and explore the context of science and religion to know the true destiny of mankind.

Nibiru, The Great Scare

When first heard, this doomsday theory deals a lot of panic to ordinary people. Nibiru is considered the Twelfth Planet or Planet X by Zecharia Sitchin, author of books promoting ancient astronaut theory of the Sumerian culture. According to him, Nibiru was the homeland of alien beings called Anunnaki of the Sumerian mythology. This extraterrestrial race was referred by him as Nephilim, offspring of the “Sons of God” and “daughters of men” as mentioned in Genesis 6:1-4 of the Bible. They arrived here 450,000 years ago to mine gold and genetically engineered Homo sapiens to work as slaves. His works centered on the idea that Nibiru's orbit around the Sun is highly elliptical with its farthest point beyond the orbit of Pluto and it's nearest as far side of the asteroid belt bringing it closer to the Sun. It takes 3,600 years to enter our inner solar system. With its immense gravitational pull, it is believed that Nibiru could trigger orbital misalignment of other planets especially Earth, which will result to great tidal waves, mega earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other environmental calamities.

Doomsday Forecast

Internet websites predicted that Nibiru is on its way to destroy Earth in December 21, 2012, the end of the Mayan Calendar. Many videos and articles claim that governments are hiding the truth from the public so as not to create panic and civil disorder. Marshall Masters, publisher of the website yowusa.com even published a survival guide tailored for this cataclysmic event. Is Nibiru really the star mentioned in the Book of Revelation?

Nibiru, a Celestial Phenomenon

According to the videos submitted on youtube.com, if Nibiru would come near to Earth, we could experience two suns shining starting on May 2011.

On December 21, 2012 planetary alignment will take place affecting gravity and tides

It is further said that on February 14, 2013, the Earth will move between Nibiru and the Sun, global pole shifting and planetary tilting will take place creating mega tsunamis and earthquakes

July 1, 2014, Nibiru will no longer affect our world and will move farther away from our solar system

Finding Nibiru in the Bible

If we link Nibiru with the prophecies presented in the Bible, surely we will take into account the evidences about this celestial phenomenon in the pages of the Holy Scriptures:

Nowhere in the Bible mentioned about two suns bringing disasters to mankind. According to Matthew 24:29, Joel 3:14-15 and Mark 13:24, it only talked about one sun that will be darkened, one moon that will not give its light, and numerous stars that will fall from the sky.

According to Matthew 24:36, no one knows about that day or hour when the Apocalypse will commence, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Are the Mayan people exempted? Or it is just the doomsayers who are setting December 21, 2012 as the end of the world because it is the end of the baktun (a Mayan Calendar cycle)?

What the Science Says

According to the website Bad Astronomy, planetary alignments have little to do with earthquakes. Every time planetary alignment occurs, doomsayers are predicting that it will cause earthquakes, floods and other great calamities that will beset our planet Earth. Planetary alignments happened in 1982 and in May 2000 but did we experience the end of the world or even the calamities that they're always predicting along with it?

According to Dr. Sten Odenwald, “From Ask the Astronomer”, a sudden pole shift or drastic changes on the rotation axis of the Earth would cause great earthquakes of magnitude 7 and higher. No area on Earth will escape the 100-500 mile per hour wind it will create. Polar ice caps will melt that will suddenly change the temperature causing seal levels to rise by 30 feet. If it is caused by collision from an asteroid or other heavenly bodies, the result would be more catastrophic sending dust and debris from the atmosphere creating radioactive environment because of too much heat of such disastrous force. Our biosphere will be destroyed, and the only survivors would be bacteria.

Tel Megiddo

The Book of Revelation, specifically Revelation 16:16 mentioned a place called Armageddon:

“Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.”

Armageddon or Tel Megiddo to the modern day Israel is an area where battles always occur dating since the ancient times. Here it will be the staging ground for the final battle at the time of Christ's return. Notice that after with the “wormwood” disaster that fell from the sky in Revelation 8:11, humans still managed to wage war. Is it plausible in the Nibiru theory? The Earth will be bombarded with great calamities due to the presence of a big unknown heavenly body within the inner solar system causing to disrupt its rotational axis, shifting its pole, creating high velocity winds, massive earthquakes, mega tsunamis and volcano eruptions and yet man managed to go to war? What trigger them to go to Armageddon amassing great number of armies where their formidable enemy is nature itself?

A nuclear weapon is a political symbol, a driving force that makes a country to achieve international supremacy, global domination, worldwide recognition and national prestige. One wrong decision to use it will plunge neighboring nations to conflict.

Like a Thief in the Night

In 2 Peter 3:10:

“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.”

According to Gotquestions.org, the “Day of the Lord” is a period of time where the wrath of God Almighty (Rev. 16:4) will be poured out. Notice that it will come like a thief. If Nibiru will come to fulfill the Day of the Lord, it could be predicted like comets, weather, eclipse and other celestial phenomenon. We will know when Nibiru will enter the asteroid belt, the distance it will fly near to the Earth, how many months before it will arrive and so on and so forth. But in a nuclear strike, can we know when it will commence? No. In case of Nibiru, sooner or later astronomers not within holding grasp of the government will discover that it is indeed fast approaching towards Earth. We could be warned months to years of preparation before we could finally feel its impact. While in a nuclear strike, we will be caught off-guard with only days or month of thinking how to survive-if you are lucky enough you are far from ground zero.

Nibiru or Nuclear War?

From the Bible point of view, we could see that the Nibiru doomsday theory is far fetched from reality. It is a myth based on Sitchin's stories of aliens rather than prophecies of our times. Set dates were also been given, which the Bible clearly reminded that no one knows (not even Jesus) except the Father when will the time of the Apocalypse will be. Celestial manifestation and calamities that the Nibiru will create if it will flyby near Earth or will collide with it is far unbelievable when it comes to science and the Holy Scriptures. If Nibiru is destined to create havoc, chances are that nations all over the world will be too busy preparing for the impending doomsday even cooperating to survive rather than squabble for a piece of land in the Middle East. Governments all over the world could prepare for the impending cataclysm, for an unknown object as large as Nibiru could be detected by amateur astronomers as far as planet Pluto-thus denouncing the Bible's claim that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

A nuclear war could create the horrifying destruction described in the Bible more accurately, with less intense and not overkill, thus allowing the bitterness (Wormwood) to creep for man to suffer in the Tribulation period. We could not predict it because it is driven politically, and politics worldwide is always unstable-especially in the Middle East where the great battle in Armageddon will take place. A nuclear war is likely to occur in the coming future but it will not end the world. It will be cut short, because Jesus will return to establish the kingdom of God.

The End of an Age

Ever since the clock struck midnight and the calendar flipped to January 1st, 2000 people have been steeped in end of the world doomsday prophecy. Everywhere you look, in the state of our world you’ll find something that points to another sign of the times. People cite biblical references to wars, natural disasters and dissension in the Middle East as indication of doomsday prophecy.

The next suspected date of impending doom is the famous Mayan Calendar date of December 21st, 2012. All sorts of speculation surrounds this date including the second coming of Jesus, the discovery of time travel, an alien invasion and a cataclysmic event such as a celestial collision to end civilization.

The interesting thing is that the supposed predictions are always of disaster of great magnitude that will end life, as we know it. The 2012 date may very well bear some meaningful significance but it doesn’t necessarily have to be on a negative scale. Even if a major change does occur, it doesn’t have to spell disaster. Some changes are necessary and can have positive effects.

For example, you wouldn’t consider the second coming as a negative event unless you viewed it strictly from the standpoint of sinners being thrown into the fires of hell and if that were the case no one would be left except little children since we’ve all pretty much sinned at one time or another. In that scenario, judgment would be rather swift. On the other hand, God is forgiving so it is doubtful that everyone would be tossed into the lake of fire. Doomsday prophecy can really get your head spinning if you dwell on it long enough.

For just one minute, try to forget all the condemnation doomsday drudgery and look at if from a positive perspective. The end of our world as we know it could be a good thing – an end to war, poverty, hunger, violence, disease. After all, this is the world, as we know it. Our world is moving into the Age of Aquarius. (And yes, it’s more than just an old song.) Among all the doomsday slingers out there, are those who believe we are coming to the end of an age not the end of the world itself. We will move out of the darkness and into the light of a golden age. The human race is evolving to a new level. It’s hard to believe that at times but anything is possible. Change is in the air so sit back and enjoy the ride.
