We Brits, or more precisely the English, have an opinion of ourselves that doesn’t seem to coincide with what the rest of the world think of us. Go anywhere in Europe and we’re unpopular. We pride ourselves on our so-called friendship with America, but do the Yanks really like us?

Why Was There a War in 1939?

War broke out in September 1939 when Britain and France declared war on Germany because Hitler refused to remove his troops from Poland. However, the causes of the war are much more complicated than just that one event.
