It produced vast quantities of power with great efficiency. In 1985 an expansion of Chernobyl saw the construction of the number 4 reactor. The construction was rushed and safety regulations were not met on numerous occasions. One of the regulations that were not met were the use of fire retardants in the reactor lid, which was a 500 tonne slab of concrete covering the uranium control rods used to produce electricity. | | Comments(2) Liked It: 14 |
