The 3rd Ward Community

There is a great need to revitalize the women and men of the 3rd Community, also known as "The Bottom". While much is being done to improve the physical site of 3rd Ward, little is being done at the same time to renew the spirit and self-esteem of the people who live in the area and are seen but yet forgotten. This is where the 3rd Ward Lighthouse comes in to action.

In public, coping with double standards can be one of the biggest problems. Many people don’t know how to manage with a situation that has arisen and a lot of people haven’t got the confidence to speak-up for fear that a problem could arise leading to confrontation. People living in the community and care often come across many of the prior problems, especially when disagreements and arguments arise.
