A man who is reared in the Jim Crow South (Texas) experiences some of the feelings African-Americans may have experienced during that time. He goes on to experience rich and sometimes rewarding experiences as he grows older but he knows the fight for racial equality has not yet been won.

Safe-haven Law: Method of Psychological Abuse to Children of Complete Awareness of Their Surroundings

In the state of Nebraska in America, the safe-haven law is in effect. This law allows parents to abandon their children under the age of nineteen, which is the age of legality in Nebraska, at designated hospitals scattered throughout the state. Since the passing of this state law in July, more than thirty children have been abandoned by their parents, some of which were seventeen years old. Can you believe this madness!?

Unusual Parenting Arrangements: Positive Outcomes

One thing that makes all families different are the parents or guardians. Some families have two parents, while others only have one. There are families with two same-sex parents, in which both parents are homosexual. While some people may think that this is awkward arrangement, it actually assists in the development process of a young child.

Does Age Play a Factor in the Value of a Person's Life?

If killing a person is punishable by the death penalty, why is it legal to abort a baby? Who gives you the right to decide which babies get to live and which don't? When you have an abortion, you're hurting yourself more than anyone else - including the unborn child.

Protests against the undeclared war in Vietnam, which occurred from 1963-1975, first appeared in 1963, grew in magnitude as the war escalated, peaked in 1969, and began to wane after the Kent State University shootings on May 4, 1970, and the Jackson State University shootings on May 14, 1970.
