My theory is that the media has given them a larger than life appearance and that can hit people in a variety of ways. The spectrum of emotions towards them can be anywhere from esteem and admiration to jealousy and hate.

When my children were forced to hear political ramblings or hate speech about our religion, I was forced to take action. When will it considered to be wrong to spout off such things by teachers in our classrooms when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand?

Can't See the Forest for the Trees?

When we look at a forest, we see individual trees, all different. How silly to want to fix twisted limbs or short trees! Viewing humanity is much the same. The forest of humanity doesn't need fixing, it's perfect as it is, when content is viewed in context.
